My first writing conference

Last week, I attended my first writing conference, and it did not disappoint. The Colorado Gold 2025, put on by the Rocky Mountain Fiction Writer's Association, was a wonderful experience. I'm a new RMFW member, so I appreciated the welcome session specifically for newbies. A wide variety of sessions were available and geared toward both self and traditionally published authors. One of my favorite perks was a free pitch appointment. Had I wanted a second pitch appointment, I could have paid a little extra, but one nerve wracking and exhilarating session was enough for me! I pitched my first novel, Deathwitch, and was thrilled when the agent asked me to submit a query package to her. I know, I know. Some will say she didn't want to hurt my feelings in person so she asked me to submit. Maybe so, but after years of writing with no one ever seeing my work, it was nice to be asked. If you want a writing conference that welcomes newcomers, where agents, presenters. and writers mingle like friends, then keep Colorado Gold on your radar. You won't regret it.
